Goodbye CDMA! All iPhone 13 series no longer support China Telecom’s 2G/3G network

News on November 21, learned from Apple’s official website,At present, the iPhone 13 series no longer supports China Telecom’s 2G/3G network, and China Mobile and China Unicom’s 2G/3G network will not be affected.

In addition, the Hong Kong version also no longer supports the CDMA standard, which means that the iPhone 13 series sold in Greater China will have no service directly when it enters the telecom 4G/5G blind zone.

It should be noted that this move has nothing to do with Apple, but with telecommunications.

According to previous media reports, the source said,China Telecom requires that from 2020, all 5G terminals are not allowed to have CDMA frequency bands and standards, and it is required that VoLTE switches are not allowed.

If the CDMA frequency band and standard have been reported, the time schedule needs to be clearly removed. The final network access certificate and model approval certificate do not allow the CDMA frequency band and standard to appear.

It is understood thatIn the early and mid-term 4G, CDMA mainly carried voice services, which is also an important factor for China Telecom’s delay in retiring CDMA.

However, as China Telecom’s VoLTE was officially launched nationwide on November 29, 2018, and achieved full network coverage, the last substantial service of CDMA also lost its value. With VoLTE, voice services are directly in LTE. It is no longer dependent on CDMA to carry the load.

According to China Telecom’s performance report for the first three quarters of 2021, in the first three quarters of 2021, China Telecom’s mobile communications service revenue was 140.528 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, and a net increase of 18.64 million mobile users reached approximately 370 million. 5G packages The net increase in users was 69.04 million, reaching approximately 156 million
